What should make us happy....?

A recent whatsapp video brought out a very valid message, which I want to share with you. "A blind boy sits in a busy road corner with a placard reading, 'I am blind. Please help'. He could collect only a few coins in a day. One day a man walked by and saw the writing on the placard. After throwing some coins in the boy's hat, he changed the wordings in the placard and went away. The boy's hat was filling up fast from then on and the boy was taken by surprise. The very next day the same man happened to walk by the road. The boy could recognize him by his footsteps. He asked the man what he did the previous day, which resulted in him collecting more coins. The man said that he changed the writing in the placard as follows: 'Today is a beautiful day; but I cannot see". This made a whole lot of difference. Detached Attachment...?!

Detached attachment - It is an oxymoron. Both words have opposite meanings but when they combine to form a phrase, they give a totally different meaning! We tend to attach ourselves with anything material, especially material comforts. We soon get used to those comforts and if we are denied those comforts (for whatever reason), we get shattered. We cannot imagine as to how we could live without those comforts. To quote an obvious example, our 'smart phones'. The youngsters now wonder as to how the old people ('oldies' in their parlance!) managed without the smart phones in their heydays! The biggest challenge in life for the youngsters now, would be to be away from their phones for more than an hour. Some people have great affinity towards their home, car, pen, and similar personal things. Their affection and attachment to them will be even more than what they have for their spouses. Perfect...(not absolutely)...!

'Perfect' is the most 'imperfect' word - in my opinion. Is there a perfect thing in this world? - Not exactly. Nothing can be 'perfectly' perfect! Anything and everything can be improved further. And then, furthermore.... The process is endless. All along we are taught that earth is round. Now some scientists are disputing that theory and trying to prove that the earth is 'flat'. May be they are crazy...., but who knows....! How many established scientific theories have been getting re-written, along the way...! What is known today as a 'perfect' theory may be proved wrong sometime later. They now say that 'Artificial Intelligence' (AI) will soon overtake the 'human intelligence'. But in my opinion, the human intelligence will always be one-step ahead of AI. After all, the AI is created by human intelligence.
