I am 'right'...and 'wrong' as well...!

Confusing...? No.

As the saying goes, 'the coin has two sides'. When we say, the coin has a 'head', it is right. And when we say the coin has a 'tail', that too is right..., right? There is nothing 'absolute' in this world. Can we firmly say there is God? Atheists strongly differ. Can a knife be used only for constructive things? It can be used with deadly effect as well. So, when I  say something, I am 'right'...as well as 'wrong'. Agree with me...No...; it is fine!

A lot was going on in our classmates 'whatsapp' domain, when Sardar Vallabhai Patel's statue (tallest in the world, as of now) was installed and officially inaugurated. Arguments, 'for' and 'against'. When I go through each message, I find substance of value. It is true. So, who is right and who is wrong? It all depends on where you stand and how you perceive it. It is like watching only the earlobes of the elephant and saying that the elephant is like a big 'sieve'. Is it right? Yes! Is it wrong? Yes! Because this is not the complete description. If I want to see one side of the story, I will do that only. I will flatly refuse to see the other side, if I do not want to see. I am blind to the other side! This is what is happening in most of the cases. People are biased, opinionated and obliquely polarized!

We tend to forget (or ignore) that there is another side to the story. We generally do not see both sides (even multiple sides, sometimes!) and pass our judgement. People have pre-conceived notions about anything they come across. We are highly judgmental!

This phenomenon is not new. From time immemorial, this had been happening. Our  ancient mythology stands as solid proof of this. The arguments (for and against) put forth by different characters in our mythological stories give clear picture of the situation in 360 degrees, discussing various aspects of the same matter. How they have analyzed so many aspects (very complicated), several thousand years back, makes the reader wonder the knowledge our forefathers had!

If you watch any of the 'debate shows' in TV, you will be amazed to see the arguments put forth by one team. By the time you come to think that this speaker is right, the speaker from the opposite team will start reeling off points in favor of his team's views. You will now tilt your judgement in favor of the later team. It oscillates with each speaker, till the verdict is given by the 'judge' of the show. Sometimes, the judge agrees with both teams and gives a 'neutral' verdict! If they (the speakers from each team) switch sides, then also, they can talk eloquently in favor of their sides. They can clearly see the merits and demerits of both sides.

Even the Supreme Court Judges see things differently and that is why we get split (not unanimous) verdicts. In the recent (controversial) Supreme Court verdict on allowing women of any age into  Sabarimalai Temple, two differing views were taken by the male judges and the lonely female judge. All gentlemen have seen the case from one angle but the lady judge has seen from a totally different angle. So, who is right? Unfortunately, the system states that we have to go by the 'majority', even though it is flawed.

We have (in India) countless political parties with different ideologies, though they all say that they are working for the benefit of the 'common man'. But they all (irrespective of party affiliation) aim for only one thing; that is, to come to power....and utilize their 'power' to..... (left to your guess). If I say something, you may not agree....
