நம்மில் சிலர் எப்போதும் இப்படிப் புலம்புவதைக் கேட்டிருப்போம் - ”எனக்கு மட்டும் ஏன் இப்படி கஷ்டத்துக்கு மேல கஷ்டமா வந்துக்கிட்டிருக்கு...”? எப்போதெல்லாம் அவர்கள் ஏதாவது பிரச்னையைச் சந்திக்கிறார்களோ, அப்போதெல்லாம் அவர்கள் கேட்கும் ஒரே கேள்வி, ‘ஏன் எனக்கு மட்டும் இந்தப் பிரச்னை’? தனக்கு மட்டுமே எல்லாப் பிரச்னைகளும் வருவதாகக் கற்பனை செய்து கொள்வார்கள். ஆர்தர் ஆஷ் என்று ஒரு பெரிய டென்னிஸ் (Tennis) வீரர் இருந்தார். அவர் உலகப் புகழ் பெற்ற ‘விம்பிள்டன் டென்னிஸ்’ போட்டியில் வென்றிருக்கிறார். சில காலம் கழித்து, அவருக்கு AIDS நோய் வந்து விட்டது. ஒரு பழுதுபட்ட ரத்தப் பரிமாற்றத்தின் போது அந்த நோய் அவரைத் தாக்கியது. எல்லோரும் அவரிடம் பரிதாபமாகக் கேட்டார்கள், ‘ஏன் உங்களுக்குப் போய் இந்த நோய் வர வேண்டும்’? அதற்கு அவர் கூறிய பதில், மிகவும் பிரசித்தமானது. ‘கோடான கோடி மக்களிடையே, சில லட்ச மக்களே நல்ல டென்னிஸ் வீரர்களாக உருவெடுக்கிறார்கள். அதிலும் குறிப்பிட்ட சிலரே உலகத்தரம் வாய்ந்த வீரர்களாக ஆகிறார்கள். அவர்களுள் முதன்மையான வீரனாக ‘விம்பிள்டன் போட்டியில்’ ஜெயித்திருக்கிறேன். இது கடவுளின் கருணையில்லையா

Everyone is unique in his/her own way. God has created each human being to be different with 'different and unique sets of attributes'. So, never try to mimic anyone. You are created by the Almighty to achieve something unique and not follow somebody's beaten track. Create a path of your own. Do not waste your inherent talents and allow them to die a premature death. Instead, try to identify your talents and convert them into skills (and hone them further) and use them to achieve dizzy heights. ஆங்கிலத்தில் ஒரு வார்த்தை உண்டு - oxymoron - தமிழில் இதற்கு அர்த்தம் - ’முரண்பாடு உள்ளது போல் இருக்கும் சொல் அடுக்கு’. எதிர்மறையான அர்த்தத்தைக் கொடுக்கக்கூடிய இரண்டு வார்த்தைகள்; ஆனால், அவை ஒன்று சேர்ந்து மொத்தத்தில் வேறு அர்த்தத்தைக் கொடுக்கக் கூடியது.  உதாராணம் : Open secret (வெளிப்படையான ரகசியம்), small crowd (சிறிய கூட்டம்). மற்றொரு உதாரணமாக, ’Detached attachment’ - ’பிரிக்கப்பட்ட இணைப்பு”. அதாவது, இணைப்பானது, பிரிக்கப்பட்ட நிலையில் இருப்பது - தாமரை இலையில் தண்ணீர் எப்படி ஒட்டாமல் இருக்குமோ, அது மாதிரி.....! நாம் எப்போதுமே, உலக விஷயங்களில் நம்மைக் கெட்டியாக இணைத்துக் கொள்கிறோம். அதிலிருந்து பிரிய நேர்ந்தால், நமது உயிரே போய் விடும் என்ற நிலைக்குத் தள்ளப்படுகிறோம். உதாரணத்திற்கு, நமது '‘கைபேசி’. இன்று உள்ள இளைஞர்களுக்கு (சில பெரியவர்களுக்கும் கூட...!) தங்களது கைபேசியைப் பிரிந்து சில நிமிஷங்கள் கூட இருக்க முடிவதில்லை. வயதான பெரியவர்கள் எப்படி கைபேசி இல்லாமல் அந்தக் காலத்தில் வாழ்ந்தார்கள் என்று ஆச்சர்யமாய்க் கேட்கிறார்கள். தங்களது உடலின் ஒரு அங்கமாக கைபேசி ஆகிவிட்டது இன்று.

Yes, of course, without any doubt. One of the positive aspects of this lockdown is getting quality family time. Even the extended families have formed a common platform to exchange pleasantries and various messages among themselves. This has united the entire family like never before. Getting quality time has spurred the members to play games, conduct quizzes, organize competitions etc. Now the internet and smart phones are the binding forces. Distance does not matter anymore. In our family whatsapp group, we conducted some quizzes and some cooking competition (for the kids in the family). The innovation they displayed, the involvement they had, and the quality they produced are quite unbelievable and simply extraordinary. I never expected such a great show from the kids ranging from 5 years to 12 years of age. They showed professionalism in their tasks. Mind-blowing; I was flabbergasted! They have talents in all fields. We, the elders have to guide them and convert their talent
