Lock-down - A 'boon' or a 'bane'.....?

Almost the entire world is in lock-down mode now. To escape the tentacles of the 'corona virus' the best-known vaccine at the moment (in the absence of a tested and tried vaccine) is lock-down. Whether one likes it or not, there is no choice as it is imposed by the governments of the severely affected countries. But as everything in the world, this too (lock-down) has got both sides. Let us see whether this is a boon or a bane.... First of all, we should consider ourselves lucky and privileged - yes, we have a place to lock us down (whether owned or rented). There are millions of people who do not have that luxury. They keep migrating or forced to cuddle in a forlorn place, in deplorably pathetic condition. Livelihood lost...., they are dependent heavily on the mercy of the government or good-hearted humans. How many people get a meal in a day during this period, is left to anyone's guess. They survive (if at all...!) barely, by God's grace. But for how long - that a

Are you having the most number of problems....?

Some people have the habit of blabbering all the time (why am I having so many problems?). Whenever they face a problem, they start uttering those words. 'Why only me?' Why do they imagine that it is only they who get all the bad things in life? Arthur Ashe, one of the greatest tennis players, the world has witnessed, when afflicted by AIDS (due to a faulty blood transfusion), was asked 'why you, of all people?' His reply was classic, at its best. "Out of millions of people who learn to play tennis, I entered the list of top-ranking players and won the coveted Wimbledon title. I did not ask God, 'why me, of all people?' So, I should not ask the same question when I contracted AIDS". We never question when we get good things in life. We take them for granted, as if it is our right to get such things. But the moment we meet a small setback, we pity us and say, "I am the unluckiest person in the world". Setbacks, problems (challenges), fai

No crying over split milk...

Is there any use? Absolutely NO...! One has to reconcile to the fact that milk split cannot be redeemed. Accepting the reality, there should be no crying. It is futile to regret over what cannot be altered or undone. Accept the fact and move on. Regretting or crying may damage our spirit to proceed further and it may have a detrimental cascading effect. The corona virus pandemic has turned the world upside down. There is unprecedented damage and loss, the world over. The pandemic has made it clear that no country or person is superior to the other. The world has to come out of this unfortunate situation and it will, in due course. We cannot afford to stagnate here, mourning the death and misery. Though we empathize with the deceased, we have to move on. Crying does not help in any way. Have faith in God and do your duty. In all walks of life, there will be some loss or the other. That is inevitable. It happens invariably to everyone. You start a venture, investing hard-earned mo
