Could you handle 'fame' and 'money (in excess)'....?

It is very difficult to handle fame and excess money. Only a handful of people can handle their famous status and the money that they have in excess quantity. They are 'level-headed' people. Very rare breed indeed! Some people would have acquired their status and money by birth (born with a silver spoon, may be golden spoon). But there are many first generation industry stalwarts who attained the status and amassed their wealth through their diligent and smart work. Most of them remain humble despite their status and wealth. They do not show off, by wearing tons of  gold ornaments on them, or drive flashy limousine or for that matter live in a palace spread over several hectares. Nor they own private jets or yachts.

But many of the others (rich and famous) imagine that they are born to rule this world and look down upon all others as some 'alien creatures'. Whatever frivolous things we can imagine, they will indulge in. They do all crazy things to fritter away their money. The money will be spent on unlawful things (mostly). They will take to drinking, drugs etc... They will in due course spoil their children also. They will not try to invest their money in growth-oriented enterprises. Soon they will start borrowing money from bank by working hand-in-glove with some unscrupulous bank officials. Their intention is not to return that money to the bank. They will run away from the country (using their political influence) and lead a pathetic, inglorious life. Living in a palatial bungalow is not a happy life. 'When will we be arrested and taken back to our country for trial' - this thought will occupy their minds all the time, and they cannot have a peaceful life. What is the use of money?

As the saying goes, 'If you have enough money, the money will save you and if you have excessive wealth, you have to guard the money'. There is nothing wrong in earning money in excess of your requirement (by lawful means, of course). But that money should be spent on adding more wealth to the country, give more employment to people, helping down-trodden and needy people by philanthropy..... The wealthy man should never spoil his children by giving access to the wealth, without making him to put his efforts to grow their empire. He should be monitored not to go astray, using his father's wealth and name. This is a very important task of the rich father. Many citadels have fallen due to the misdeeds of the children.

Similarly people who become rich by a strange stroke of luck, like lottery or winning a reality show, all of a sudden, also do not know how to judiciously spend the 'luckily got' money. A person who got 50 million rupees in a reality show a few years back is a pauper now, having frittered away his money in all unlawful ways.

One's rich and famous status should be used to further the growth of the industry, shaping the children to follow their footsteps, helping the needy in all possible ways. A famous industrialist once said that 'if you can sleep within ten minutes of going to bed, you are the richest person'. It is not your wealth that makes one rich.
