Practice, practice.... and practice some more

Practice makes a man perfect. It is not gender-specific. It applies to both genders. If you have natural talent imbedded in you, unearth it first. Then nurture it. Convert the 'talent' into 'skill', by constant and untiring effort and regular practice. If the talent is 1%, the practice needed is 99% to make you an acclaimed performer.

There is no substitute for constant practice. Ask any world-renowned performer, be it in the domain of music, dance, art, sports. All their success stories will reveal one thing in common, that is 'constant practice'. Even after they become well-known performers in their respective fields, they never stop practicing hours together to hone their skills further more. Every single time they practice, they will keep unearthing new avenues to perform and thereby to enthrall the audience.

Even the world's top-ranked tennis player, has a coach. Why? After all, he is number 1! Isn't it? How can another person, who is nowhere near his (top-ranked player) level, teach him anything new? Because the coach may know more 'nuances' of the game. Of course due to various reasons, he could not have risen up to the world standard. So, the coach can teach the world-ranked player some new tricks, find where he (the top-ranked player) makes mistakes, by analyzing his game and correct them. Moreover he helps him to get the constant practice that is needed to keep the ranked player always on top. "If you don't practice, you don't deserve to win" - a famous quote by Andre Agassi, a world-ranked tennis player, in his time.

Consider a world-renowned musician. He even today will be practicing for hours together to keep his skill in tact. He never once will be satisfied with what he does now. He will keep trying to improve his skill further, as there is no limit to the skills that he possesses. If he is satisfied and starts thinking that he knows everything, his decline will start from that moment.

Success is nothing more than a few simple disciplines, practice every day. When you practice, you get better; it's very simple. When you are not practicing, someone else is getting better (by practicing). Practice like you have never won; perform like you have never lost. The more I practice, the luckier I get.  Sincere practice, makes the impossible, possible.  Tomorrow's victory is today's practice.  -- These are all some famous quotes on the importance of practice.

So, never ever stop practicing your skill if you want to go further up.
