Perfect...(not absolutely)...!

'Perfect' is the most 'imperfect' word - in my opinion. Is there a perfect thing in this world? - Not exactly. Nothing can be 'perfectly' perfect! Anything and everything can be improved further. And then, furthermore.... The process is endless.

All along we are taught that earth is round. Now some scientists are disputing that theory and trying to prove that the earth is 'flat'. May be they are crazy...., but who knows....! How many established scientific theories have been getting re-written, along the way...! What is known today as a 'perfect' theory may be proved wrong sometime later. They now say that 'Artificial Intelligence' (AI) will soon overtake the 'human intelligence'. But in my opinion, the human intelligence will always be one-step ahead of AI. After all, the AI is created by human intelligence. But who knows...., I may be proved wrong sooner or later. Very recently, the unfinished 10th symphony of Beethovan has been completed successfully using "Artificial Intelligence", after about 200 years. 'Future Shock' by Alvin Toffler (too much change in too short a period of time) may not be a shock anymore.

Can anyone give a definite number of digits for the value of 'pie' (ratio of circumference of a circle to its diameter)? Can we define 'infinity'? We cannot put a 'full stop'!

Is there a perfect solution to any problem? The solution may be nearly perfect, at best and NOT the absolutely perfect one! Sometime later, a better solution may surface. And surprisingly, that would not be the last....

Is there a 'perfect match' between married couple? If you think so, you are fit to live in UTOPIA. May be there could be compatibility (with compromises on both sides, of course!) and not a perfect match.

Major tooth-paste manufacturers were ridiculing some other local brands (in the past) for having 'salt' in the tooth-paste. But the multi-national tooth-paste manufacturers advertise (now) that their paste contains 'salt'. In Walmart, 'neem stick' regularly used by the villagers here, is now being sold as 'organic toothbrush' for $ 15 (roughly Rs. 1,000). They kept saying two cups of coffee a day helps, but of late they say 'coffee is poison'. Some people will say taking honey is good and some would say it is detrimental. Whom to believe...! There is no perfect advice...

Once upon a time, for 100 Meter dash, the 10 seconds timing was thought to be the perfect record. It was broken thereafter, time and again. In a recent 'kambala race' in Karnataka, Srinivas seems to have bettered Usain Bolt's 100 m dash timing! Even the latest records will be broken in the subsequent contests. That (breaking of records) goes on. After all, the 'records are meant to be broken'. In the 1976 Montreal Olympics, Nadia Comaneci (Romanian gymnast) was given a score of 'perfect 10'. She went on to score more 'perfect 10s' subsequently as well. Was each performance the same? How could they award perfect 10 score? This means that she cannot improve upon her 'particular' performance. If she does, what is the score to be given? It was not right - in my opinion.

Some people are known as Mr. Perfect. He might be having a lot of flaws in his performance/behavior. (If you probe, you can find out). I, for one, do not subscribe to that. There is nothing called 'perfect'. Anything can approach 'perfection', but it would never reach the ultimate perfect stage, as such. Ask any acclaimed performer and he will say, 'the best is yet to come'. You keep raising the 'bar' so that the performance improves in subsequent outings. That is the beauty....!

Even the purest form of 'gold' has only 99.99% purity. At best, the word 'perfect' is perfectly 'imperfect'!
