Do you have Plan B..., Plan C...?

It is said that 'those who fail to plan, plan to fail'. So, it seems that it is essential for everyone to plan things ahead. Even for mundane things, we need to make a plan. Planning for anything to do is mandatory now. Okay, you have made your plan, alright! But when it is executed, do you think everything goes as per your plan 'verbatim'? Invariably 'a BIG NO'. Because the happenings around you, do not depend on your plan. You do not have any control over what happens around you, which affects your plan, most of the time.

Then, why to plan, at all? If you do not plan at all, the things that happen could be even more disastrous; that is why. When you plan, you would at least know where you have failed in your plan and what has not happened according to your plan. You have some guidelines to do a course correction. But if you do not have any plan for that matter, you are more than sure to fail 99% of the time.

Some people get terribly upset, the moment they find that things do not proceed according to their plan. Never get disappointed. Despite your best laid out plan, things can go haywire, due to internal factors or external factors. Expect the 'unexpected'. Expecting failure, you must always have "Plan B' and if necessary, 'Plan C' as well. Then, the probability of succeeding becomes very high. Even acclaimed achievers invariably fail in their well-orchestrated and detailed plans. It is due to their having Plan B (and Plan C in toe), the project meets success at the end.

So, next time when your plan goes for a toss, do not panic. Stare at the face of failure with renewed determination (armed with alternate plans), so that the failure is scared of you! Most of our home-makers are experts in this aspect. They will start making some dish and end up with a totally different dish, thanks to their applying Plan B/C, should in case their original plan fails. They do not cry over split milk. Everyone should learn from them.

Some of the youngsters today aim to get admitted in medical college. But if they do not make it, they are devastated; attempt suicide. What a folly! With their acquired knowledge in science and other related subjects, they have an array of courses to choose from. Or they can take the competitive exam in the next academic year. No one has the right to take away the precious human life given by God.

Our college principal used to joke thus: When a student attempted suicide after having been rejected by his lover, our principal told him, 'if no Seetha, then Geetha!' To reassure the student and to make him not to attempt such foolish acts, he said that way. May be the 'Plan B' worked for the student....

On a humorous note : sometimes when the 'lawmakers' of your home are included in your plan, all your plans might go for big SIXES, even if you have Plan B, Plan C...... Plan Z !!! They will have hidden agenda, which will be revealed in the very last minute, thus upsetting your apple cart! Expect the unexpected! Start enjoying the unexpected turn of events....
