Do you aspire to be a blogger...?

Let me first of all confess that I am not an established blogger. Then why am I venturing into teaching someone? It is for simple folks like me, who would just want to express themselves in the way they can. Everybody has ideas, everybody gets ideas. Instead of keeping them within you, just let them in the open. Your ideas put in as a blog might be informative, educative or simply entertaining to someone. That might trigger some thoughts in others. Then why not give it a try?

I have come across a few of my friends who have expressed their interest in blogging. But they hesitate to start. There is absolutely no reason to flounder; just plunge in. If we wait for the waves to subside (in the sea) to take a bath, we will never get a chance! Get along with the tide.

Once you get a 'flash' on something, note it down - to develop that as a blog later. Sometimes when you read the newspaper, you would get ideas. For example, when you read a news item about someone getting cheated (monetarily or in matrimony), you might start thinking how the vulnerable person got cheated. When you see the news that Supreme Court has ruled that extra-marital relationship is not an offence, you might get agitated. That should give you some idea to develop. When your tailor keeps on promising to deliver, but postpones to the next day (repeating it a number of times), you start contemplating as to why he is not keeping his word. You would form your ideas on 'keeping the word'. When you walk on the road, observe people. Their actions and behaviors will provide you with ample subject matters. So on, and so on..... You should develop the knack to spot the plot, with your roving eye!

Just munch over it, whenever you get the time. You will get some fresh input to add. Note it down. Continue this process over a period till you feel that the content is enough to give a shape to your blog. Do a rough draft. Trim it wherever needed. Add a few points here and there. You will get a 'passable' read (as a blog). Keep it frozen for a couple of days (to get refining ideas). Then take out and give a final shape and when you feel that it is okay to the best of your knowledge; that is it. You should do spell-check and grammar check before you publish.

Do not worry about the readership (that is, if you are not aiming to become a professional blogger). Even the negative or adverse comments, if any, should not ruffle your feathers. Please remember there are multiple dimensions to any point that you make. So, if anyone does not agree with your point of view, you must take it positively (that he has read your blog!). Be firm on your convictions.

And for your vocabulary, you must read a lot (mainly books of your interest). The words will beg you to take them and use in the right places. Even if one person gets motivated by this blog and starts trying, I would deem that as my success. Happy blogging....
