When the going gets tough....., the tough gets going...

Yes, it is very true. This fact is proved time and again. More so, during this 'pandemic' period.

A college professor, in this period, was asked to bring 4 students (to join the college). Otherwise he would lose his job. Where from he could bring students to join engineering college? He waited for a couple of months and then he was asked to go by the management. He did not flinch. He is originally from a place where preparation of some 'snack' is famous, throughout the State. He did not find such snacks in the place where he lives. He knows how to prepare the snacks. He did not get perturbed in getting ousted by his college. He prepared in the beginning a small quantity of the snack and supplied to nearby shops. It was a hit with the locals there. He expanded his business gradually and and now he is able to make about Rs. 1,000 a day which of course, is okay for managing his family expenses.

He never had negative thoughts when losing his job. He did not mind doing such menial job, having been worked as a professor in a college. No job is to be looked down upon. Any job which does not use unfair means and does not cheat anyone, is good. That is dignity of labor. This is manifested during this difficult period.

A lady research scholar, who lost her job did vegetable business in the market to meet the family expenses. Her experience as a vegetable vendor in a video went viral and someone helped her get back her research job. A techie girl who lost her job due to this pandemic, sold vegetables to meet ends meet; And someone having come to know this has helped her get a job in a IT company. A taxi-owner who lost business due to the extended lock-down, converted his taxi into a mini-restaurant and served 'biriyani' and survived the financial crisis. Another college lecturer recently started selling only tea and he makes Rs. 500 a day and he is now planning to start the 'ever-in-demand' 'biriyani' business soon.

So, if one thinks positively, anything and everything is possible. It is the mindset that one needs, especially during tough times. Tough times go off, but tough people survive and thrive.

Unfortunately some people have negative mindset and they are troubled by their present position and even go to the extreme step of committing suicide. On the contrary they should face the difficult situation head-on and surmount the crisis and survive. Everyone has an inert 'boldness' inside. One should be able to bring it out in the time of need. The world has suffered even worse pandemics and severe calamities earlier. Having less equipped with the modern technological facilities, people had survived such pathetic situations and flourished later. Why not we! We are much more fortunate with so much of technological advantages. Throw away the negative thoughts and face the evil virus boldly. We are sure to succeed....
